  • Making use of the presense at JET of most of the European edge modellers in February, a number of meetings were held in relation to edge Integrated Tokamak Modelling issues, and specialist sub-groups were created.  Notes describing these meetings have been posted to the bulletin board (http://www.efda-taskforce-itm.org/Blah/Blah.pl) in the IMP3 section.  A copy of the notes can also be found here.

  • Within the Framework of IMP#3 ("Transport Code and Discharge Evolution"), five sub-tasks were identified in the "Call for Participation":
  1. MHD Equilibrium and Stability Modules [to be coordinated by Grigori Pereverzev (Grigori.Pereverzev@ipp.mpg.de)]
  2. Non-linear Modules (saw-teeth, ELMs, NTMs) [to be coordinated by Vassili Parail (Vassili.Parail@jet.uk)]
  3. Transport Modules [to be coordinated by Denis Kalupin (D.Kalupin@fz-juelich.de)]
  4. Sources and Sinks [to be coordinated by Vincent Basiuk (Basiuk@drfc.cad.cea.fr)]
  5. Interfaces to Boundaries [to be coordinated by David Coster (David.Coster@ipp.mpg.de)]
and the responsibilities have been divided among the IMP3 leadership as indicated above.

  • I have created two new mailing lists:
    • efda-tf-itm-imp3@ipp.mpg.de which contains the e-mail addresses of all those that have been “supplied” by their associations via a response to the “Call for Participation”
  • These are regular “majordomo” lists and can be subscribed/unsubscribed by sending the appropriate messages to majordomo@ipp.mpg.de (for help send a message with the body containing the single word “help”)
  • If you know of anybody who would like to participate in IMP3 activities, but who is not on the mailing list, ask them to subscribe by sending an email to majordomo@ipp.mpg.de with the line “subscribe efda-tf-itm-imp3” in the body of the e-mail
